Welcome to Employmum's support page - after chatting to many women who have contacted us seeking flexible work, we discovered that many of you talented, skilled, educated and brilliant people were facing barriers, real or perceived to getting back into the workplace.

We have brought together a network of hand picked coaches around the country to help you get over these barriers and ultimately, prepare you for getting back to work and reclaiming your mojo!

Meet our coaches:

Cork - Gillian McGrath

Gillian is originally from Limerick but Cork has been her home for the last 20 years.  As well as running her own Training & Coaching practice, she is mum to three children – Eoin, Katie and Fionn.

Gillian has hands on experience of building and maintaining a career that’s fulfilling while working around the needs of her family. She understands the challenges that a return to work transition can bring. She also understands the ever- shifting balance that is being a working mother. Gillian supports Employmum by providing Return to Work related workshops and individual coaching.

With over 15 years experience in Training, Coaching and People Development, Gillian has plenty of experience in working in both private and public sectors as well as with her private clients.

She holds a B.A. from the University of Limerick, Diplomas in Psychology, Life & Business Coaching, Training and Development and Psychometric Assessment. She also holds the Master Trainer Cert. from the IMI.

West Cork - Anna Healy

Anna Healy has been a Career Coach for the past 11 years in West Cork. Originally hailing from Kerry, she moved to Cork at the tender age of 21 and has never left. As a mum of 2 she understands the challenges of maintaining a work-life balance while developing a rewarding career.

Anna has worked in a variety of areas throughout her career which has enriched her understanding of career and the challenges that come with it. Anna has worked in the public and private sector, and was once a Childcare Worker, a Manager, a Massage Therapist and Scuba Diving Instructor too!

Her style is practical and down to earth, her focus is on creating realistic possibilities and opportunities for people and breaking down the barriers that people experience while trying to get to their destination. Anna understands how important it is to mind your mental health and can help with strategies to cope with the stresses that change can bring.

Anna is a passionate advocate of lifelong learning. Anna has a BA(Hons) Social Care, HDip Personnel Management, with several qualifications in Training, Advocacy and Life & Executive Coaching. She also has completed lots of random training courses such as Spanish, Cookery, Yoga and Mindfulness which are equally as helpful to her for leading the interesting and fulfilling life that she loves.

Limerick Coach - Valerie O'Hanlon

Valerie, a native of Dublin but living in Limerick, is a graduate of the University of Limerick and has over 25 years’ experience in the Human Resources Sector.   Valerie has in the past balanced a 9-5 job with being a mum to her three children, has taken time out to stay at home with the children and now runs her own Coaching & HR Consultancy business.  Valerie strongly values education and life-long learning and is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Personnel & Development (MCIPD), a member of the International Coach Federation (ICF) and is also a qualified financial advisor (QFA). 

Valerie is a professional Life, Business and Career Coach.  She helps her clients to improve their confidence, identify their key skills and values and enhance their communication and interview skills.  Valerie believes wholeheartedly in the Coaching Ethos that we are all experts on ourselves with many resources within, but that sometimes those resources need a little push and pull to reveal themselves!

Valerie is also a Volunteer with the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission delivering their Money Skills for Life Programme.

Kildare - Clodagh Erasmus

Clodagh Erasmus is a Life, Executive and Career Coach who is hugely passionate about seeing people reach their full potential. Clodagh spent over fifteen years working in sales and marketing in the hospitality and pharmaceutical industry and has worked with a diverse range of people, at all levels. She helps her clients figure out what is most important to them. Her Life Coaching Service is something she is hugely passionate about. She firmly believe that everybody deserves the best out of their lives. She works with clients drawing out their current way of thinking and behaviours in order to develop a clear path, focus and vision. She is also a mum to two small children so she understands the challenges and emotions that come with being a working mum!

Dublin - Karen Gunnell

Karen moved to Dublin from Westmeath to study in college and has remained there since. She took a break from her role in IT and project management to stay at home with her 3 children for 8 years.

Karen has been successfully coaching clients in a variety of industries who are at different professional levels and helped facilitate their self-growth since receiving her diploma in Business, Executive and Personal Coaching in 2016. She has also worked with clients wishing to return back to work by helping them work out what options they might consider and more importantly helping rebuild their confidence and self-esteem to take on what seems like the daunting task of returning back to work. Karen herself has first hand experience of what it is like returning to work and the fear and anxiety that comes along with it.

​Karen believes the key to change is awareness of oneself and what is around us. She likes to start the first session with a mindful walk to get away from the confinement of indoors and begin the coaching relationship surrounded by nature.

Executive Coach - Barbara Nugent

With over 20 years post-qualification experience, Barbara’s finance career has led her to senior management positions both internationally and in Ireland.

Most recently, Vice-president of Finance for EMEA and India with Premiere Global Inc.’s European HQ in Cork,  she led the operational finance functions from initial start up in 2002 to 2014.  During that time she led a number of teams and cross-functional  projects.

Understanding the pressures of working in busy organisations, across departmental, cultural and departmental lines, Barbara coaches individuals and teams to work to a higher level.  Her focus is on real and tangible results that deliver value in the workplace.

Her particular interest is developing the power of Emotional Capital with her clients, which accelerates and enhances their leadership skills, their ability to influence and their communication skills. 

Barbara has a range of programmes for individuals and teams, speaks to groups on a range of topics such as career choice and progression, professional productivity and relationships in the workplace.

Pharma Coach

Bernie Burchill is based in County Cork and is a Career & Life Coach and HR Consultant.  Bernie has over 15 years’ experience in the HR sector and is Mum to 3 Children, Kate, Jack & Ruby.    Bernie’s HR experience has been in a variety of large, multi-national organisations, predominantly within the Pharmaceutical sector. 

 

As Coach, Bernie is passionate about helping people reach their potential, achieve personal and professional success, whilst maintaining a sense of balance and wellbeing in their lives.    With significant recruiting and coaching experience (performance & development) within the pharmaceutical sector, much of Bernie’s coaching work is on interview performance and preparing clients for those ‘challenging conversations’ in the workplace – which can often cause stress to clients, particularly for mothers returning to work.

Bernie holds an MSc in Work and Organisational Behaviour from University of Limerick, a Bachelor of Business Studies and Diploma in Personnel Management from University College Cork and a Diploma in Personal, Life & Executive Coaching.  Bernie is fully qualified in level A & B Psychometric Assessments, 15FQ, 16PF, MBTI & EQi.
